Foam Portrait | Sinking

from $30.00

Foam Portrait featuring an original poem from my book in between the lines. This piece is about loving across distance until it turns into survival, about reaching for someone who stays dry while you disappear under the weight of it. Minimal, quiet, and heavy in the right way, it is made to live on your wall like a reminder and a release.

Poem text

I’VE SWAM THROUGH 7 OCEANS

TRYING TO GET TO YOU.

LOSING MY BREATH TO THE WAVES

THAT PULL ME AWAY FROM THE SHORELINE

I’M GIVING YOU, MY ALL.

YOU’RE SO CLOSE,

YET SO FAR—

YOU’RE IN REACH, BUT I CAN’T

SEEM TO MAKE IT.

YOU GLANCE INTO THE GLISTENING WATER

AND DON’T EVEN HESITATE TO ASK

IF I NEED HELP.

I’M SINKING—

MY LUNGS ARE FILLING

WITH THE SALT AND TEARS

THAT YOU GIVE ME.

THE WEIGHT OF AN ANCHOR BRINGS ME DOWN

I GASP FOR MY LAST BREATH—

I TOOK ONE LAST LOOK AT YOU

AND WITH THAT, I KNEW MY HEART WAS CONTE—

Color story

A textured off white paper background keeps the page soft and raw. At the bottom, a washed sea blue band fades into pale teal and misty gray like shoreline water. A small figure reaches up from the surface, tethered to an anchor below, creating a single stark focal point that mirrors the poem’s weight.
